SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A DUI checkpoint operated by the California Highway Patrol is planned Friday in Southwest Riverside County.

The CHP Temecula Area office announced the checkpoint Thursday afternoon but did not disclose where in Southwest Riverside County, or at what time, the operation would take place.

Motorists approaching the checkpoint will see informational signs advising them that a sobriety checkpoint is ahead. Once diverted into the lane, motorists will be detained "only a few moments," the CHP explained.
