DUI Driver Was Doing Push-Ups When Officers Found Him In Field: Police

The driver, who told officers he had been traveling 100 mph, hit an electrical box and a fence with his car, according to Murrieta police.

MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta police recently responded to a crash and found an intoxicated driver doing push-ups in a field next to his car, authorities said.

Officers received a report of a vehicle striking an electrical box and rolling over a fence, police said Friday in a social media post. When they arrived, they found the motorist in a dirt field exercising beside the vehicle, according to police, who did not specify the date or time of the collision beyond that it happened “the other night.”

The driver told officers he was traveling about 100 mph at the time of the crash, police said, and a field sobriety test determined he was under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.
