Free Thanksgiving Meal, Chance of Rain: This Week in Murrieta
Here are five things to know the week of Nov. 18, 2013 in Murrieta, Calif.

1. Cool weather will continue in Murrieta this week, with high temperatures ranging in the mid-60s, according to the National Weather Service. There is a chance of rain beginning Wednesday evening through the weekend. Overnight lows will range in the mid-40s.
2. Murrieta businesses, groups, organizations and families are invited to sponsor a tree for the City of Murrieta’s inaugural Festival of Trees, scheduled for Nov. 30, following its annual Holiday Magic Push Cart Parade. Trees can be purchased for $25 each, then decorated by the group in order for it to be displayed during the event at Town Square Park. Trees will be donated to local families in need. 3. Murrieta City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at City Hall, One Town Square. Agenda items include but are not limited to: a cooperative agreement between the County of Riverside and the City of Murrieta to provide assignment of duties during construction and future maintenance of Clinton Keith Road between Whitewood Road and Leon Road; a city financial report on the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2013/2014; and a report from the City Clerk’s office regarding public records requests. 4. Murrieta Mesa High School and the Rotary Club of Murrieta are teaming up again this year to offer a free Thanksgiving meal. The fifth annual “Share the Harvest” includes a festival and other activities. It will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the high school, 24801 Monroe Ave., Murrieta. 5. Need a reason to support your local schools? It’s officially American Education Week. The observance had its beginning in the aftermath of World War I.
