French Valley Fire Map: Spread Halted On Fast-Moving Keith Fire
Air and ground resources responded to keep the blaze from burning nearby homes, Cal Fire reported.

FRENCH VALLEY, CA — The forward rate of spread of a fast-moving brush fire in French Valley was stopped Tuesday afternoon.
The 10-acre Keith Fire was halted at 2:25 p.m., though fire crews were expected to remain on scene for four hours, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The non-injury fire was first reported at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday on a hillside at Trois Valley Street and Clinton Keith Road.

Air and ground resources were summoned to tackle the blaze, which was burning in light grass near homes "with a rapid rate of spread," according to the fire department.
Crews managed to keep the flames at bay, and no structures were damaged, the fire department reported.

Sheriff's deputies were requested in preparation for any evacuations.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
