Gas Price Near Murrieta Drops For 7th Time In 8 Days

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Friday for the seventh time in eight days, decreasing 1.1 cents to $4.034.

The average price has decreased 2.7 cents over the past eight days, including three-tenths of a cent on Thursday, after rising 3.1 cents the previous eight days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago but 16.5 cents more than one month ago and 38.3 cents higher than one year ago.

"In the last day or so we have seen significant price reductions of about 10 cents a gallon at Arco, Costco and Sam's Club gas stations, which are typically among the lowest-priced stations in the area," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

"More local refineries are coming back online and this has pushed down wholesale Los Angeles gasoline prices."
