I-15 Traffic Stalled In Southwest Riverside County Due To Big Rig Vs. Sedan Crash

MURRIETA, CA — Traffic stalled on the Southbound I-15 from Lake Elsinore into Murrieta after a collision between a big rig and a sedan on Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol reports.

Just after 8:30 a.m., a white semi truck collided with a grey Nissan Sentra on the southbound I-15 just south of California Oaks/Kalmia Street in Murrieta, according to CHP dispatch. By 9 a.m., southbound I-15 traffic had backed up to the Railroad Canyon Road offramp.

Though the vehicles attempted to pull over ot the right-hand side of the freeway, traffic was blocked in the slow lane, according to reports from the scene.

Tow trucks were responding to assist at least one vehicle that could not get into neutral, and remained blocking lanes.

CHP has alerted that this was an injury crash. No additional information was immediately available.
