'Incredible' Murrieta Mom Is 'So Loving & Finds The Energy To Serve'

MURRIETA, CA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

I could use many positive words and take up many pages to talk about my mom, but here's off the top of my head what my brother and I discussed before his unexpected death in February.

Since we can remember, my mom helped those in need with a nurturing and soothing spirit. She helps her neighbors, her church, family and friends. She's helped people interested in starting a business. When closing her shop, she donated inventory and supplies to help another.

When growing up, we would even take in stray dogs and cats then nurture them back to health. My brother found a baby squirrel near dead but mom knew what to do. We raised Chipper Chumlee (CC for short) 'til it was full grown and set it free on a Fourth of July. She still is so loving and finds the energy to serve. She is a petite 83-year-old incredible woman that follows the Golden Rule. For many years she was a single parent raising two children to adulthood. Her strength and moral compass has been passed down to her children, grandchildren and great-grandson so that we too can serve. She is an exceptional, humble, lovely person. We are blessed to have her.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She is incredible. I would love for people who don't know her to read about her.
