The university hopes its new curriculum will provide broad clinical exposure in both acute and chronic cardiovascular care, which occurs in inpatient and outpatient settings. Educators will also train fellows on a variety of cardiac procedures.
“We’re training cardiologists here in Southwest Riverside County who receive training but also perform research that will help contribute to improved understanding of disease processes, and ultimately, toward advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease,” said Manila Zaman, MD, program director and chief of cardiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center – Murrieta.
