Loud Noises In Temecula, Murrieta Likely From Camp Pendleton

The base issued an advisory due to "noise generating events."

TEMECULA VALLEY, CA — Residents of Temecula and Murrieta and the greater Southwest Riverside County area on Thursday reported hearing loud "booms" throughout the region — but officials say don't be alarmed. The noises are likely the result of nearby exercises at Camp Pendleton.

The base's noise report for this week indicates officials will be "firing high explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact area" through Friday.

On Thursday, mortar fire was scheduled between 6 a.m. and midnight, along with MICLIC fire. Mortar fire is also scheduled all day Friday, according to the noise report.
