Man And His Dog Safely Evacuated From Menifee Mobile Home Fire

MENIFEE, CA — A fire tore through a Menifee mobile home Monday, largely destroying the residence, displacing the occupant and his pet.
The blaze was reported at 1:25 p.m. in the 25400 block of Antelope Road, just east of Interstate 215, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in half of the double-wide trailer, from which the occupant, identified only as a man, safely evacuated with his dog.

Firefighters quickly surrounded the property, fully containing the fire in less than an hour.
One crew member suffered an unspecified minor injury and was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment, officials said.

Shortly before 5 p.m., firefighters completed mopping up at the location.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the resident with finding temporary alternate lodgings.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
