Menifee Man ID'd In Fatal Single-Car Crash

The man crashed into a retaining wall next to a Menifee home and died at the scene, according to police.

MURRIETA, CA — A 44-year-old man died after crashing into a retaining wall adjacent to a Menifee home, authorities said Monday.

Jason Remington of Menifee was fatally injured shortly before 8 p.m. Friday in the 27000 block of Via Real, according to the Menifee Police Department.

Remington was driving his car eastbound when he apparently lost control and slammed into the wall, Menifee Police Sgt. Matthew Bloch said.

Good Samaritans pulled the victim out of his car and attempted CPR. When Calfire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived, they continued life-saving measures but were unable to revive Remington, Bloch said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.
