Menifee Man Admits Sexually Abusing Girl

The investigation uncovered that Mims, who remains free, had assaulted the victim multiple times.

MURRIETA, CA — A 24-year-old man who repeatedly sexually assaulted a Lake Elsinore girl pleaded guilty Friday to felony charges.

Kole Scully Mims of Menifee admitted two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old in a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. In exchange for his admissions, prosecutors agreed to drop four related charges against Mims.

Superior Court Judge John Monterosso scheduled a sentencing hearing for Jan. 10 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. A prospective term of imprisonment was not disclosed.

Mims remains free on a $110,000 bond.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Reese, deputies were alerted in July 2023 to the molestation of a youth, identified in court documents only as "M.A.," in Lake Elsinore.

The investigation uncovered that Mims had assaulted the victim multiple times, Reese said.

Court records show the first assault occurred in early June 2022, and the last one occurred at the end of November of that year.

The circumstances behind the offenses and the defendant's relationship to the girl, if any, were not disclosed.

An arrest warrant was served on Mims in Riverside, where he was taken into custody without incident in early August 2023.

He had no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
