Menifee Motorcyclist Severely Injured In Crash With Truck

The collision drew first responders to Scott and Daily on Monday night.

MENIFEE, CA — A 46-year-old motorcyclist remains in critical condition after a colliding with a truck in Menifee on Monday night, authorities said.

At 10:17 p.m., the Menifee Police Department said it responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Scott Road and Daily Road. Upon arriving, officers found a Toyota truck and a BMW motorcycle both with major damage.

The truck driver, a 65-year-old Menifee resident, was not injured and waited at the scene for law enforcement to arrive, police said. Meanwhile, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but sustained "severe" injuries, the department said.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition, polcie siad.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the truck was traveling west on Scott Road and making a left turn onto Daily Road. The motorcycle rider was traveling east on Scott Road when he crashed into the truck and was "thrown" from the bike, police said.

Officials have not determined the cause of the crash but alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a contributing factor.
