More Pickleball Courts Coming To Murrieta
The city put the construction project out to bid, and staff selected a contractor. City Council is expected to approve the contract.
MURRIETA, CA — As the popularity of pickleball continues to grow across the nation, more courts are planned in Murrieta.
A construction contract in the amount of $307,628.60 is expected to be approved on Tuesday by the Murrieta City Council.
The agreement with Placentia-based Micon Construction, Inc., is for the Alderwood Park Pickleball Courts Project. The work includes three new pickleball courts at the facility located at 28796-28622 Baxter Road.

Alderwood Park has two existing pickleball courts, and last year City Council approved adding three more.
The project was put out to bid, and Micon Construction was the "lowest responsible bidder," according to the city.

The new courts will be located directly to the east of the current courts. New fencing, landscaping, and shaded seating for spectators and waiting players are also part of the construction agreement.
The new courts are expected to be completed by next summer.
The contract amount includes a 15% contingency for unexpected costs and delays.
