MURRIETA, CA — After pulling a vehicle over in Murrieta for a traffic violation on Monday, police arrested a driver on suspicion of carrying a large amount of methamphetamines, Xanax and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Sidney Journey, a 28-year-old man from Wildomar, was pulled over near the intersection of Fordham Way and Margarita Road at 2:17 a.m., Lieutenant Miguel Garcia of the Murrieta Police Department told Patch.

Police said he has two active felony warrants.

Journey reportedly showed signs of impairment during the stop, which prompted officers to search the vehicle, the department said.

The investigation turned up 44 grams of meth and 241 Xanax pills. Officers also found ammunition, which violates a felony.

"DUI is preventable, folks. Call a friend, an Uber, or even your mom. She’d rather pick you up than bail you out," police wrote on Instagram.
