Murrieta Fire Map: See Baxter Fire Perimeter, Evacuation Warning Areas

MURRIETA, CA — A swift-moving brush fire ignited in Murrieta, triggering evacuation warnings, Murrieta Fire and Rescue said. As of 6 p.m., all evacuation warnings were lifted, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, and the fire was 30% contained.

The blaze, named the Baxter Fire, sparked near the intersection of Clinton Keith and Whitewood Roads, at Avenida Manana and Running Rabbit Road. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire, it swiftly burned into unincorporated Riverside County.

Firefighters worked the scene of the brusher that ignited Thursday afternoon near Clinton Keith and Whitewood Road. The brush fire ignited just after 3:45 p.m., grew to 10 acres, then ballooned to nearly 59.5 acres by 5:30 p.m. All Evacuation orders were lifted by 6:15 p.m.
