MURRIETA, CA — A house fire quickly grew into a brush fire that threatened Murrieta homes and businesses Thursday evening, triggering evacuation orders and warnings.

The blaze, named the Fig Fire, sparked at the intersection of Fig Street and Madison Avenue.

All evacuations and evacuation warnings for this blaze were removed as of 8 a.m. Friday morning, according to Murrieta Fire & Rescue.

The initial house fire extended from a burning Murrieta home amid gusting winds Thursday. The Murrieta Police Department issued a mandatory evacuation order for surrounding areas until further notice.
