Murrieta Man Sentenced To 55 Years In Prison For 2023 Hemet Slaying

HEMET, CA — A 40-year-old Murrieta man was sentenced earlier this month to 55 years in prison following his conviction on a murder count.

According to the Hemet Police Department, at approximately 9:42 p.m. on November 17, 2023, officers received a call about gunshots in the 800 block of South Palm Avenue.

When they arrived at the scene, the officers found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save the victim, he died at a local hospital. His identity was not released.
The investigation was complex, according to police, but about a month after the slaying, Miles was taken into custody. He was booked on suspicion of murder and held on a $1 million bail bond.
