Murrieta Police Arrest 2 Shoplifting Suspects, Recover Meth, Pipes
The pair were seen on a surveillance video running out of the box store with a full shopping cart, police said.
MURRIETA, CA — Two people accused of shoplifting were arrested in Murrieta last Tuesday after they were seen on a surveillance video fleeing the store with a shopping cart filled with merchandise, police said.
When authorities found the pair sitting in a vehicle a few blocks from the box store, methamphetamine and meth pipes were found inside the car, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
Both suspects were arrested and booked on charges including drug possession and shoplifting, police said.

It began when a loss prevention employee of the store, which was a Target, witnessed two people on a live video filling a shopping cart with clothing, a flashlight and other items and running out of the store through a fire exit with the unpaid merchandise, police said in an Instagram post.
As the pair fled the parking lot in a vehicle, Murrieta police officers were already on their way.

"Take a lesson from Dumb & Dumber, don't steal in Murrieta," police wrote on Instagram.
