MURRIETA, CA — The Murrieta Police Department is seeking the right individual who is calm under pressure and passionate about helping others to serve as a Public Safety Dispatcher.

"The Murrieta Police Department is looking for motivated individuals to serve as Public Safety Dispatchers," they said. Prospective dispatchers should be able to:

  • Answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls
  • Coordinate police, fire, and medical responses.
  • Use the newest technology to keep Officers and the community safe.
  • Provide life-saving instructions and support in critical moments.

The department offers competitive pay and benefits, a supportive, family-oriented department culture, and the opportunity to make a real difference every day. Salary opportunities range from $66,476 to $80,808 for Dispatcher I, and $73,129 to $88,899 annually for the Dispatcher II position.

"All properly completed applications will be reviewed, and the most appropriately qualified individuals will be invited to continue in the selection process. Examinations for the position may consist of any combination of appraisal interview, performance test and writing exercise to evaluate the applicant's skill, training, and experience for the position. Successful applicants will be placed on an eligibility list. The City may also merge lists. The selected candidate(s) must successfully complete pre-employment clearances, which may include a physical, drug screen, and Live Scan background investigation."
