Murrieta Residents Invited To City's Birthday Bash

The city's 32nd birthday celebration is scheduled from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in California Oaks Sports Park, 40600 California Oaks Road.

MURRIETA, CA — The city of Murrieta will celebrate its 32nd birthday Saturday, featuring a slate of family-oriented events, including food, music and fireworks.

"Murrieta's 'Birthday Bash' exemplifies what is wonderful about this special city," City Manager Kim Summers said. "We value family, friends and coming together as a community to enjoy local vendors and businesses. It is a true community event, and everybody is invited to celebrate the city's birthday with entertainment and fun. It's a great way to kick off summer."

The municipality incorporated on July 1, 1991.

The birthday celebration is scheduled from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in California Oaks Sports Park, 40600 California Oaks Road. It is free to attend.

Skynyrd & Company, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, will be playing sets, along with the K-Tel All-Stars, while attendees enjoy barbecues, games and a "firefighters' hose down," for those who don't mind getting wet, according to officials.

The pyrotechnics show is scheduled after sunset.
