Murrieta School Placed On Lockdown Amid 'Vague Threat'

Antelope Hills Elementary School was locked down as officers swept the campus. What to know.

MURRIETA, CA — After receiving a threat, Antelope Hills Elementary School in Murrieta was placed on lockdown on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Staff said they received a "vague threat" related to the school campus, which prompted the school to lock down while officers responded, the Murrieta Police Department said.

While the lockdown has since been lifted, multiple officers conducted a thorough safety sweep of the school to determine that there was no credible threat, the department said.

"Students are safely back on campus," police wrote on social media. "We want to thank school staff, students, and families for their cooperation and patience during this response. The safety of our community remains our top priority.”
