Murrieta Woman Suspected Of Smuggling Contraband Into County Jail
The woman was arrested June 27 at her Murrieta home.
MURRIETA, CA — Inmate records show that a Murrieta woman is apparently no longer in custody following her arrest late last week on suspicion of smuggling suspected narcotics into a county jail.
Maria V. Pena, 37, was arrested Friday at her residence by San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies.
On Wednesday afternoon, Pena was observed trying to smuggle drugs into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, according to the sheriff's department.

She was at the facility to visit an inmate, the agency said.
Following a two-day investigation by San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies, Pena was arrested and subsequently booked on suspicion of bringing contraband into jail, the sheriff's department reported.

A search of San Bernardino County jail records on Monday did not yield Pena's information.
