Pedestrian Killed On Winchester Road In French Valley

FRENCH VALLEY, CA — The California Highway Patrol released details about a fatal crash this week involving a pedestrian on Winchester Road in French Valley.

The tragic incident was reported at 9:23 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of Winchester, just south of Skyview Road.

According to the CHP's preliminary report, a 31-year-old Moreno Valley man was walking "within the northbound #1 lane of Winchester Road" when a Mercedes-Benz SUV struck him.

The 41-year-old man from Moreno Valley who was driving the Mercedes did not see the pedestrian, the CHP reported.

"DUI is not suspected," according to the CHP.

No arrests were announced.
