RivCo Firefighter Injured In Wildfire That Charred 8 Acres

Fire officials closed a main road while they worked to quell the fire, which burned three sheds.

VALLE VISTA, CA — A firefighter was injured in a wildfire that scorched eight acres and damaged a few outbuildings on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The fire, which was reported at 11:58 a.m. in the area of Olive Avenue and Fairview Avenue in Valle Vista, was burning at a moderate rate of spread before crews gained 50 percent containment, the Riverside County Fire Department said.

A total of three outbuildings, likely sheds, were damaged.

Meanwhile, one person was treated by medical professionals in the area but declined further treatment and one firefighter sustained minor injuries. The firefighter was taken to a local hospital.

Olive Avenue remained closed from Fairview Avenue to Elan Drive as of 1:13 p.m.
