The owners said the restaurant and bar will shutter after the holidays, though there are plans to open something new in its spot.

MURRIETA, CA — If you love RJs Sizzlin Steer steakhouse in Murrieta, you might want to swing by before the restaurant/bar closes its doors for good.
After the holiday season, family-operated RJs will shutter — though the owners have plans to open something in its place.
"We appreciate all the years of patronage and look back fondly on them, RJ will be renovating the building in the new year and opening his new concept in Spring! We hope to see you this holiday season!" the owners posted on social media over the weekend. "Come join us one last time."

RJs impending closure is bittersweet. The eatery has served the Temecula Valley for 38 years. In 2000, the original Temecula restaurant relocated in the city and was renamed after the family's eldest son, RJ. Then in 2006, the restaurant moved to its current location at 41401 Kalmia Street in Murrieta.
"With an estimated 3,000 employees over the years, some of which are still with us today after decades, we have always operated our family business as an extension of our own," the eatery shared. "Now as the family legacy turns over to our new generation, we just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support you've given our family over these wonderful 38 years."
