Seeing Smoke In Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Wildomar? Here's Why

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — A brush fire that burned Monday aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton was sending smoke across Southwest Riverside County.

The fire was within the base's Zulu Impact Area, which is just southwest of the Temecula-Murrieta area.

"While there is no threat of this fire extending beyond the installation, smoke may be visible on Camp Pendleton and surrounding communities," the base reported just before 2:30 p.m. Monday. "Camp Pendleton Fire will continue to monitor the situation."
