SW RivCo Braces For Triple Digit Heat: Excessive Heat Warning In Place
An excessive Heat Warning is in effect in Southwest Riverside County's Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Temecula and Wildomar, the NWS says.
MURRIETA, CA — High temperatures and low air quality were the weather story for the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists say the high temperatures in Murrieta and Temecula will reach 101 degrees by Wednesday, and the heat will not drop—even slightly—until at least Thursday. Triple-digit heat will continue throughout the week in Riverside County, with an excessive heat warning in effect until at least 9 p.m. Thursday in the Coachella Valley, Banning, and Desert Hot Springs areas.
National Weather Service forecasters said temperatures of 115 to 121 degrees are possible in the affected area.

Meteorologists say Tuesday and Wednesday will be the hottest days of the week, and temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit Tuesday through Friday in Riverside.
Meanwhile, in the desert, Palm Springs was expected to reach 120 on Monday and 121 on Tuesday, with similar highs forecast for Coachella and Indio.
With rising cases of heat-related illnesses, forecasters advise people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles, and check in with loved ones and neighbors who may be susceptible to the heat.
Air quality regulators issued a windblown dust advisory until 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Coachella Valley and eastern Riverside County. High winds may result in unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups.
