SWR Fire Rips Through Apartment Complex

The fire damaged several units, the fire department reports.

TEMECULA, CA — An early morning fire in Temecula tore through an apartment complex, damaging or destroying a total of eight units, the Riverside County Fire Department reports.

The blaze was reported about 3:50 a.m. in the 41000 block of Margarita Road, which is near the Promenade Mall, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters from ten engines were sent to the scene, the fire department said. The fire, dubbed the Margarita Incident, was contained at 4:55 a.m.

"The fire was contained... to eight apartments; four damaged/destroyed by fire and four sustaining minor to moderate smoke damage," a fire report stated.
