150 Firefighters Battle New Year's Eve Blaze Near Murrieta
As of 5 p.m., the fire was 50 percent contained but the public was asked to avoid the area.

MURRIETA, CA -- A wildfire broke out Sunday afternoon near Clinton Keith Road near Murrieta. The fire was reported around 1:27 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The fire was about seven to eight acres as 150 firefighters worked to battle the blaze in the La Cresta area of unincorporated Riverside County. Twenty-seven engines and two helicopters were at the scene.
As of 5 p.m., the fire was 50 percent contained.

Traffic was shut down on Clinton Keith Road and Avenida La Cresta as fire crews worked to contain the blaze, the California Highway Patrol said.
No injuries were reported.
