Woman Dies Following Winchester Crash That Injured 3 Others

WINCHESTER, CA — A woman who was among four people hospitalized over the weekend after a two-vehicle crash in Winchester has died.
Kimberly Higgins, 51, of Hemet was pronounced dead shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, according to the coroner's office.
The crash was reported at approximately 1:42 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Road and California Avenue, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

A total of four people were involved in the wreck. Two victims with serious injuries and one victim with minor injuries were sent to local hospitals via ground ambulances. A fourth victim was transported by medical helicopter with serious injuries, the fire department said.
The California Highway Patrol assumed the investigation. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
