Woman Threatens Murrieta Schools On Social Media, Earns Jail Time: Court
A 24-year-old Menifee woman was found guilty of making numerous threats against this and other Southwest Riverside County schools.

MURRIETA, CA — A Menifee woman was found guilty of making numerous threats against schools in Murrieta and was sentenced this week to 11 years in prison, according to court documents.
Juliana Ortgega pleaded guilty to one felony count of making criminal threats in May and was sentenced on July 10 by Riverside Superior Court Judge Judith C. Clark one week ago.
In August of 2024, Ortgega was arrested for making criminal threats against Thompson Middle School in Murrieta. She was out on parole at that time for making criminal threats against another area school, according to official reports.

Her social media threats said she planned to "shoot up the school," according to a report in The Press-Enterprise, and Murrieta Police Lt. Jeremy Durrant. He also said she warned the school would get "blasted."
Her motive remains unclear, according to the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.
