NEWARK, CA — The San Francisco Chronicle named Mingala Restaurant and ID Company in Newark among the Top East Bay Restaurants, considered "the best and brightest in the region."

The paper praised the "swagger" of Mingala, which serves Burmese and Malaysian cuisine.

The review singled out "the tea leaf salad ($13.99), which is littered with a merry band of nuts, seeds, fried beans and Thai chiles." The folded roti paratha, beef rendang, the intensely spiced masala chicken, and the sweet cafe baby short ribs were also considered worth trying.
