A Boutique That May Raise Eyebrows

New store in mall offers hair removal and eyebrow shaping services through threading.

A new kind of salon has come to NewPark Mall and is changing the shape of things.

The art of eyebrow shaping comes in the form of Brows, a boutique that opened in mid-July, according to a press release.

Brows occupies 784 square feet on the second floor of the shopping mall near Burlington Coat Factory.

At Brows, hair removal is done with the ancient Eastern practice of threading, which is said to be more natural than waxing and tweezing.

"Threading is a less painful and more precise way to remove unwanted facial hair, including eyebrows, the upper lip, chin, sideburns and any other area of the face. Clients also find fewer ingrown hairs," said Davinder Channon, owner of Brows.

In threading, one line of hair can be taken out at one time, which can create a more defined shape for eyebrows, the press release states.

Brows also offers other services. including henna and glitter tattoos.

NewPark Mall General Manager Kelly Gardner said the goal of the mall's management team is to "offer shoppers innovative retailers."

"Brows is a great niche beauty service and we know our customers will appreciate their convenience and service," Gardner added.

NewPark Mall is owned and managed by General Growth Properties, Inc., which owns 167 regional shopping malls nationwide.
