A New Dog Joins The Newark Force

Newark Police Department adds another K-9 unit.

From Newark Police Department.

Please welcome K-9 “Ares” as the Department’s newest police dog and recent graduate from the K-9 training academy.

Officer Nick Mavrakis is teamed with “Ares” and they started patrolling the streets of Newark this month.

The team’s responsibilities will include searching for and apprehending criminal suspects and furthering community interaction while enhancing officer and community safety.
