Big League Giants Take Championship
Big League Giants shutout and grand slam Mission San Jose to earn Big League championship.

The Big League Giants arrived at Mission San Jose's home field early Sunday morning to play a championship game that will forever be in their memories.
It was the final game of the season between two teams that were considered worthy to be there. At stake: the Fremont-Newark District 14 Big League Championship.

Final Score: Giants 8 — Mission San Jose Astro's 0.
From the very first pitch it was all starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi, as he mowed down Mission San Jose batters one after another in order.

The Giants all-star starting pitcher needed only 81 pitches in seven innings giving up no runs on just two hits for a complete game shutout.
GAME BALL: Joey Lucchesi.
Offensive Highlights: First baseman Angel Reyes was the hottest bat of several Giants as he blasted an amazing grand slam shot over the left center field fence and went 2-3 for the day with five RBIs. Catcher Billy Bergendahl had a hard-hit double and single as well as Brady Moore and Francisco Martinez. TJ Lopez crushed a shot to the warning track for a long double and JD Dasilva, Matt Mendoza and Matt Kaufman all contributed with timely RBI singles.
Congratulations goes out to the entire Misson San Jose Astro's players, manager and coaches for a well-earned season and for being a strong and competitive adversary.
ALL-STAR NEWS: Congratulations goes out to the entire Big League Giants team for being nominated as All-Stars by all three District 14 and their three Big League managers. All Big League Giants Players, Manager Mark Alexander, Coach Dave Martin and Coach Tom Dubeck, along with four Mission San Jose players second baseman Arron Ferrell, catcher Chris Gonsales, pitcher Patrick Wang, and their coach, Dave Foster, will represent the District 14 Big League Team starting this Saturday June 25th at Sequoia High School in Redwood City at 11 a.m. against last year's Champions District 57 (San Ramon, Pleasanton, Livermore). Good luck, guys.
You should be happy to know the Big League Giants were recruited from six different leagues. They are Newark National Little League, Newark American Little League, Fremont American Little League, Centerville National Little League, Centerville American Little League, and Niles Centerville Little League.
