BJ’s Restaurant Offers Free Pizookies This Month

NEWARK, CA — BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is using its gooey and popular Pizookies, freshly baked giant cookies in a pan topped with ice cream and a drizzle of sauce, to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month.

When customers make a donation on the receipt of their dine-in or take-out order to the association this month, they will receive a free Pizookie in return. The freebie may be redeemed through July.

BJ’s also donated $25,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association, and created an exclusive trio of purple beverages that are inspired by the official color of the Alzheimer’s movement: Tito’s Lavender Lemonade with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Monin Lavender, lemonade, and fresh lemon; a Lavender Mojito with Bacardi Run, Monin Lavender, BJ’s Mojito Mix, fresh blueberry, mint, and club soda; and a non-alcoholic Lavender Lemonade with Monin Lavender.

  • More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and this number is estimated to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050.
  • Alzheimer's disease kills more Americans than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
  • In 2021, Alzheimer's and other dementias cost the nation approximately $355 billion. By 2050, these costs could rise as high as $1.1 trillion.
  • On June 21, the Alzheimer's Association holds The Longest Day, an annual fundraising event on the summer solstice. Participants choose an activity of their choice to raise awareness and funds to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
