Check Cashing Business Robbed at Gunpoint
Police are investigating an armed robbery in which two men held a cashier at gunpoint, police said.
Police are searching for two men after an armed robbery was reported at a check-cashing business on the 7000 block of Jarvis Street in north Newark that occurred Wednesday morning.
Two men, both armed with handguns, held a cashier at gunpoint and demanded cash just after 9 a.m. at the store, said Officer Robert Norvell in a press release issued Thursday morning.
The men stole cash and fled on foot, police said. The men are described as black male adults who are about 5-foot-10 and were last seen wearing black pants and hooded sweatshirts. Their ages are undetermined.

No injuries were reported.
The armed robbery of the business comes one day after in which a resident was held at gunpoint by three men.

Details on what was taken from the home is being withheld because of the ongoing investigation, said Sgt. Mike Carroll in an email.
The two incidents do not appear to be related, according to Sgt. Aaron Slater.
