Police Commander Robert Douglas To Retire in April
Douglas oversees administrative services for the Newark Police Department.
Commander Robert Douglas of the confirmed Wednesday that he will be retiring next month.
Douglas, who is one of three commanders within the police department, leaves his post on April 12.
Currently, Douglas oversees the administrative services unit of the Newark Police Department. He manages several divisions, including investigations, communications and records.

Taking Douglas' place will be current Detective Sgt. Mike Carroll and Sgt. Manuel DeSerpa will be promoted as the department’s detective sergeant, Douglas said in an email.
Douglas is the second police commander to retire in the past four months. Former Commander Donna Shearn after 25 years of service in November and her retirement became official this month.
