Excessive Heat Watch Issued For East Bay, Newark: NWS
Temperatures are expected to hit triple digits in parts of the East Bay this weekend with records expected to be broken. Newark forecast.
NEWARK, CA — The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for most of the Bay Area including Alameda County.
The heat watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to warm later this week and top out over 100 degrees Saturday through Monday in the interior East Bay, with new records expected to be set on Sunday and Monday in Livermore. Here in Newark the Bay will keep us cooler, with the hottest day predicted to be Sunday with temps in the low 90s.

“The risk for heat related illnesses is increasing,” the NWS said on the agency’s Facebook page.
“Make sure to hydrate and take cooling breaks if you'll be outdoors. Avoid activities during the heat of the day if possible.”
