Fatal Shooting Victim Identified by Police
The Newark man was found unresponsive in the back yard of a home Sunday evening.
Newark, CA— Police have identified a man murdered in Newark last weekend as 42-year-old Juan Duron Muniz.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 6300 block of Zulmida Avenue at 5:12 p.m. Sunday, June 12.
They found Muniz, a Newark resident, unresponsive in the back yard of a home at that location. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that the Muniz and the suspect got into a confrontation, during which Muniz was shot.

The suspect, identified as Rizueno Ramirez Cruz, fled the scene and remains at large. He also goes by the name Jorge Diaz Aguilar and is described as a 170 pound Hispanic Man standing 5 feet 8 inches tall with
black hair, brown eyes and a medium build.
