- Why Go: Attend a special program being held at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Cemetery in order to honor individuals who have served in the military.

- Why Go: Participate in a photographic, silent protest that was launched as a response to the passing of Proposition 8, which eliminated the right for same-sex couples to marry. No reservations needed; it’s first come, first serve. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
- Pricing: $40 for solo portraits. $25 per person for group or couple portraits.

- Why Go: Take a trip back to the ’50s and learn what “Summer Nights” in is all about in this Fall production of “Grease” performed by Newark Junior High School and Newark Memorial High School students.

- Why Go: Check out all kinds of cars, including hot rod customs, classical cars, muscle cars and more. There will also be at least 100 vendors selling car-related products and a special Veteran’s Tribute on Saturday.
