• Where/When: Newark Memorial High School, Newark; Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
• Why Go: Watch local performers in Stage 1’s The Wedding Singer, a musical production of the 1998 movie about a man who was left at the altar that takes place in the 1980s.
• Pricing: $10-$22

• Where/When: Third and H streets, Fremont; Saturday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Why Go: Enter your dog in a show or bring your pet along to watch others get crowned in various categories, including best costume and best performer. The event also features a Doggie Water Park and canine demonstrations.
• Pricing: Free for spectators. To enter your dog into the show, the same-day cost is $20. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

• Where/When: 9500 Thornton Ave., Newark; Sunday at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Why Go: Enhance your child’s interest in the arts by having them participate in a workshop where they will do outdoor sketching. The workshop is open to children between 7 and 12 years of age. Call 510-792-0222, ext. 363, for reservations.

• Where/When: Safeway, 39100 Argonaut Way, Fremont; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Why Go: Help feed the hungry.The Safeway stores at 3902 Washington Blvd. and 46848 Mission Blvd. in Fremont will also be participating.

• Where/When: Shirley Sisk Grove at NewPark Mall, Newark; Sunday at 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
