Homicide Investigation Underway In Newark

The incident happened around 10:58 p.m. in the area of the 7700 block of Wells Avenue.

NEWARK, CA -- A homicide investigation is underway Saturday after a man reportedly died from a gunshot wound in Newark. The incident happened around 10:58 p.m. in the area of the 7700 block of Wells Avenue, according to the Newark Police Department.

Officers who arrived at the scene said they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was later declared dead, police said. The victim has not been positively identified.

Newark Police Department Detectives are investigating the incident, which is not believed to be a random act, as a homicide.
