Man Who Died in Fremont Crash Identified as Newark Resident
The fatal collision was reported in the 42000 block of Boyce Road at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fremont, CA— The Santa Clara County medical examiner has identified a man who died in a collision Wednesday evening in Fremont as Stephen Montano of Newark.
Officers responded at 6:30 p.m. to a report of a two-vehicle collision with injuries in the 42000 block of Boyce Road, police said. Montano, 20, was speeding south on Boyce Road when he lost control of the vehicle and came to a stop on the other side of the road, according to a preliminary police investigation.
A vehicle going north on Boyce Road then hit the passenger side of Montano's vehicle. Montano was taken to a hospital, but died, according to police.

The driver of the other vehicle and two youths inside suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Police said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a part in the collision.
