The Newark Bluefins Swim Team came out on top with a win against the Glenmoor Stingrays Swim Team of Fremont during the second meet of the season on June 10 .
The final score was Newark 630, Glenmoor 413.

Here are some highlights from the meet, held at Newark Memorial High School:
- Jonathan Mui set the breaststroke record for the 11-12 age category for males at 32.68.
- Kyle Alcosiba, Jacob Crosby, Giovanni Lu and Jonathan Mui broke the medley relay record for the 11-12 age category at 2:13:36.
- Allison Garret, Isabelle Loaisiga scored maximum points with four first place, three individual and one relay.
- Big Tuna Awards were given to Joey Duenas, Emily Mobley, Bryce Monnier and Kayla Strand.
In keeping with the pirate theme of the meet, swimmers and coaches alike waved pirate flags. See photos from the meet above.

This Friday, Newark's Bluefins take on Kennedy in a Superheroes-themed meet at 8:30 a.m. at the pool.
