Newark Community Non-Profit Grant Program To Help Local Non-Profits

The Newark Community Non-Profit Grant Program is open through Feb. 28.

NEWARK, CA — It's not too late to apply for the city of Newark's Community Non-Profit Grant Program which supports community nonprofits to continue their services to Newark and its residents, the city said in a news release.

City Council approved a total of $300,000 of ARPA funding to be made available as grants to nonprofits that have faced economic hardship resulting from or exacerbated by the public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Newark Community Non-Profit Grant program is open through Feb. 28 and will only accept electronically submitted applications through its website which can be accessed here.

The city has made applying easy by offering a PDF Template on its website to help applicants prepare their responses. Applicants can copy and paste responses into the application form when available. The template can also be found under the "Helpful Documents" section on the City of Newark website.

Proposals received after deadline will not be accepted and the city reserves the right to reject any and all proposals submitted, request clarification of any part of a proposal, request additional information from competitors, and waive any irregularity in the proposal. Applications cannot be edited after submission.

Per the City of Newark Municipal Code: Nonprofits should still apply for a business license but are exempt from the Business License registration and renewal fees. However, they must pay the $4.00 State CASp fee in accordance with California Assembly Bill 1379 (AB1379). For questions, call Cashier/Business License (510) 578-4310.
