Newark Mask Mandate Dropped By Alameda County

The mandate for indoor masks officially lifts at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.

NEWARK, CA — As COVID-19 cases continue to decline in Newark and Alameda County, the Public Health Department is lifting the local Health Officer Order that required masks in most indoor public settings. The order is officially rescinded at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday.

This brings Alameda County back into alignment with California’s face masking guidance.

While the order is being lifted, both the State and Alameda County continue to recommend the use of masks indoors in public settings.
