NEWARK, CA — Newark residents are flocking to retailers to purchase their $2 Powerball tickets with an approximate $1.9 billion prize on the line in Monday night's drawing.
To play, you'll need to purchase your ticket by 7 p.m. at more than 23,000 retail locations across the Golden State, according to the California Lottery.

There was no jackpot winner in California for Saturday's draw. But there were 1,531,733 winning tickets.
The top California winning tickets, which matched five numbers minus the Powerball number, were worth $1,120,390 each and sold in Susanville, Encinitas and San Leandro.

Lottery winners in Saturday's draw purchased their winning match five tickets from a grocery store, a drug store and a gas station, according to the California lottery website.
The California Lottery has granted California public schools more than $39 billion since it began in 1985, according to the California Lottery website. K-12 schools benefit the most, however, community colleges, universities and other academic institutions also see benefits from this program.
