Newark Battered by Storm
Trees down, power outages, garbage cans strewn about, and utility pole on the brink of toppling
As the storm continues to travel throughout the Bay Area, Newark is definitely seeing some storm damage.
There is a huge tree that fell down this morning at the entrance of Coyote Hills Elementary school, which is right at the driveway entrance where parents, teachers, and staff travel into the parking lot.
Thornton avenue near O'Sullivan is littered with tree debris. The fallen palm tree fronds are causing some drivers to zig-zag through lanes.

Mirabeau park also has a very large tree that has fallen down into the park. While it has not fallen into the walking path of the park, community members should be vigilant while taking walks with children and pets.
There is what appears to be an electrical pole at the Mirabeau park sidewalk, on Mirabeau Drive, which seems to be teetering ever so peculiarly. It should go without saying; To use caution when in this specific area of Mirabeau park - watch for falling trees and/or utility lines that may be loose overhead.

A city tree on Colbert street seems to have also succumb to the unrelenting wind storm.
